DRI – Crossover
It’s a shame naming my blog as such and not having a single DRI post. Well, here it is. I’ve already found posts of the hardcore-era albums of DRI in other blogs so I might as well post their first crossover-era album. Simply titled Crossover, it was in this very album that the phrase actually was coined. Once playing half-minute to a minute long songs, this album was their third and the first to offer the crossover metal sound that although so many bands have already incorporated in their sound, the DRI crossover sound still stands out and amazingly no other band has equalled or managed to mimic their musical style. Most “hardcore” fans may find this release boring as I myself did at first mainly because of the longer songs, but it’s still DRI. Noteable moments here are The Fiver Year Plan, Tear It Down, Hooked and my personal fave Oblivion. I so love that rythm. Absolutely four of a kind.
